A few years ago, Lego began offering a set called Lego Ideas that allowed fans to submit ideas for new sets. The most successful ideas are put through a rigorous test process before being officially released. These new designs allow fans create models that are incredibly detailed and not available in other sets. This led to the creation of the Voltron set. This set allows users to build all five mechanical Lions, and then assemble them to form the legendary Voltron.
Other fan-created sets include this homage to Japan’s most well-known mountain range. The set is of a huge size and is packed with lots of interesting details that will not find in other sets. It’s an ideal way to show your love for Japan.
This ode to Star Wars is another impressive creation. The set contains all the iconic weapons from the Star Wars Secure Data Rooms franchise, as well as a lot more than what you’d normally get in a set. It’s the most amazing set we’ve seen for quite a while.
Since quite some time professional Lego artists have been creating impressive Lego creations. One of these artists is Mariann Nathan, who has been working as a freelance Lego designer for several years currently. Her portfolio includes everything from replicas of famous landmarks, to a life-size pirate and four-foot ladybug.
Another notable Lego artist is David Hughes, who recreates famous paintings in brick form. He even has a piece of Afternoon of a Faun for sale, though be aware that it’s not inexpensive.
